- Do you have outdated technology systems that make decision-making cumbersome and untimely?
- Do your project teams have the skills to plan and manage outside vendors?
- Is your IT group focused to meet the changing needs of your organization or just “putting out fires”?
If you answered “Yes” to any of these, we can help you.
Samples of client projects that delivered results:
We reviewed the delivery of information technology services to a large City where the staff devoted to IT were located both centrally within IT and within the departments.. Our recommendations regarding improvements in IT governance, organization and service delivery were accepted by the City Manager and the City Council. The recommendations resulted in ongoing savings of 10-15% of the overall technology spending.
A medium sized full service City engaged us to assist them in a Package System Selection to replace their 25-year-old custom developed financial system.. Our selection approach and methodology saved the City valuable time in the procurement process. It also engaged city staff into the selection and implementation process. The resulting system has saved the city at least five staff positions and has resulted in improved service delivery, both to internal departments and externally to the citizens and customers of the city.
After assisting a small City with the selection of an ERP software and implementation vendor, we moved to the next phase to help negotiate contracts with the software/hardware vendor for delivery. The net result of our involvement was a reduction of approximately 5% overall vendor costs.
We assisted a City through the implementation of an ERP system by providing project management coaching and mentoring to the city’s project manager and project team
. We provided the project manager with templates and approaches throughout the three-year implementation effort and included regular on-site visits and reviews and on-call advice. The city now has a number of staff who can manage projects that impact the city, thus saving dollars on consultants.
We delivered a quality assurance function to a large City that was embarking on a major technology upgrade and replacement. Our activities resulted in the early identification and mitigation of potential problem areas that were addressed prior to becoming major problems, saving significant staff resources and keeping the project on time.
