Viewing diversity as a strategic approach can enhance an organization’s delivery of services.
Studies show that quality of service delivery increases with effective use of diverse teams. Diversity enhances team dynamics and decision-making. It does this through the expanded thinking process because of the different backgrounds that are brought to a team. This diversity might include a different culture or a different skill set.
Oftentimes diversity is viewed in a very narrow perspective and not maximized within an organization and teamwork. Viewing it as other enterprise-wide assets, diversity can add to an organization’s effectiveness.
Examples of we have assisted clients include:
- For a special district, we provided custom developed training incorporating the organization’s core values and diversity concepts. These concepts were linked with hands-on case studies for their supervisors and managers.
- We provided diversity training that led participants through a historical view of diversity, multiculturalism, primary and secondary types of diversity and how communications factors affect reactions between and amongst individuals and teams within organizations.
